Thanks for saying all this, I’ve been saying this stuff for years and people just tell me I’m overthinking the problem. I do my part by only buying socks made in USA. There are a few places left here in this country that make socks, but they are few and far between. They have to say where they are made, probably to let people (who care) know that we gutted our garment production in America. Try to buy USA made goods whenever possible and buy stuff that is built to last, not to be cast away when the trend is over.

This is such an insightful article, I thought being a frugal shopper was a good thing, but this has opened my eyes. It’s so great because you don’t come across articles like this that are really thought-provoking but still have that fashion element in them. I’m definitely reading this book

When I ran a physical store and people would ask me where the owner got their stuff, I would usually fend off any further questions with an ‘I don’t know?!!’ and my best I’m-just-a-clueless-clerk stare, hoping that nobody would come in and rat me out as the owner during the exchange. Or also just say ‘dead people’ to end it quickly. I sell online now… Thanks for this! Great post.
